Encore: Effective Board Governance and Development

Engaged board members who are effective in carrying out their duties and responsibilities can make a critical difference to the success of an organization. During this episode, Dr. Dwight Smith, General Counsel with the Neighborhood House Association in San Diego, CA and Ms. Sarah Lyman, Executive Director of Alliance Healthcare Foundation will share their experiences and discuss best practices for board governance; engagement; roles and responsibilities; board development; setting a strategic direction and making policy versus managing operations; and functioning as a high performing entity.
