A special session was convened yesterday at the request of Governor Cox, which saw many large political strides made in just a few hours. Among the items on the agenda were raising the berm on the Great Salt Lake, delegating the choice of chief justice to the Governor, and, of course, the redistricting maps. One map, "Map C," was put in front of the courts. Greg and John talk about the choices made by the legislature and some of the pushback it has seen.

The battle of the maps

The battle over Utah's congressional maps saw a major turning point yesterday as Map C was chosen by lawmakers to be submitted to a Utah judge for approval. Senator Brady Brammer proposed a partisan test to be applied to maps going forward. Greg and guest host Dave Cawley discussed this bill and what the goal behind this legislation is.

In the Utah Legislature's special session yesterday, they passed a bill which will allow the Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands to raise the berm in the lake to 4,192 feet if deemed necessary.
