Toronto Today with Greg Brady

Corus Radio Network

Greg has been with CORUS and AM640 since Fall 2019 when he crossed over from Sportsnet 590, the Fan after 9 1/2 years wanting to do something more challenging and diverse than "just" sports. After success early in his career in Detroit co-hosting the top-rated morning sports talk show in the entire state of Michigan from 2002 to 2007, Greg came to Toronto and CORUS/AM640 to co-host "The Bill Watters Show" when the company had the broadcast rights to the Toronto Maple Leafs. His time at Sportsnet 590, The Fan began in 2010, and also featured a successful run in morning drive in two incarnations, between 2011 and 2019, so morning audiences are already very familiar in Toronto with his knowledge and personality. Greg has broadcast play-by-play from several Super Bowls for radio in the United Kingdom, and handled OHL play-by-play for the Windsor Spitfires and Saginaw Spirit from 2002-2008. His radio recipe is to "play the hits" and "keep things moving", with a mix of news, politics, social commentary, sports, and entertainment. The things people talk about at their dining room table, backyard barbecues, and at kids' sporting events are the things he wants the show to be about. Greg's current joy is navigating two teenage boys through as he describes it, "an era of adjustment" with his wife of 17 years. His hobbies include making music playlists for runs at the gym, tennis, reading music biographies, and watching documentaries when live news and sports isn't consuming him.

Think Tank with Stephanie Smyth, Brad Bradford & Mark Saunders

10/8/2025
Greg Brady & the panel of: Stephanie Smyth, Toronto—St. Paul MPP Brad Bradford, Toronto city councillor for Beaches - East York Mark Saunders, former Toronto police chief, mayoral candidate Discuss: 1-I had a rough day yesterday looking at what happened on our streets, especially Montreal - Concordia having to be closed, couldn’t guarantee safety of some students - bomb threats, marches in the evening in Toronto - October 7 was bound to heavy, anyway - we’re a long way, it feels from a society that respects each other - even when our views are different, yes? 2-We had heard about this earlier in the day - O Canada played in Arabic during a student-run and organized morning announcements - had never been done before…..people can awfully territorial and pejorative about the anthem - but it’s still Canada, and almost everyone would admit it needs to be in English or French at a school - what’s your reaction to the story? Think Tank with Chloe Brown & Steve Paikin

10/7/2025
Greg Brady and the panel of: Steve Paikin, Author and Broadcaster, host of The Paikin Podcast, Chloe Brown, policy analyst and former Toronto mayoral candidate, Discuss: 1 - Doesn’t waiting 7+ months tell Torontonians that congestion and easing traffic crunches isn’t exactly a top priority at City Hall? 2 - The school boards were bound to say that - but I actually think when a letter is sent from 22 mayors urging the Premier to keep some element of speed cameras in - especially in school zones, it may be something he ends up listening on, yes? 3 - October 7th - was a Saturday morning 2 years ago - I admit not quite seeing what ended up happening that day would lead to where we are now - what do you remember about initial thoughts of the attack - and how the West would react to it? It goes without saying - there’s a clear demographic shift re: YOUNGER PEOPLE - on how Israel as a construct is viewed. That was not necessarily brand new, but more pronounced. 10/6/2025
Greg Brady and the panel of: Anthony Furey, columnist and 640 Toronto Contributor, Kim Wright, Founder and Principal of Wright Strategies, Discuss: 1-Between 2006 and 2024, the average self-reported life satisfaction of Canadians under 35 has nosedived - it’s a terrible sentiment to share, but tell me if you agree w/ this - I’m glad I’m not in my early 20s and I’m glad I WAS in my early 20s in a much better era in Canada to be that age. Agree? 2-Hopeful? Less hopeful? Think Tank with Ben Mulroney and Eric Lombardi

10/3/2025
Greg Brady & the panel of: Ben Mulroney, Host of the Ben Mulroney Show 9 to Noon on the Corus Radio Network, Eric Lombardi, Founder of More Neighbours Toronto, Discuss: 1. UK terror attack has grabbed everyone’s attention. More sad than furious watching celebrations in London after it. There’s only one religion we’d allow to be victimized like this - plain & simple. What are we supposed to think when we hear this/see what we saw? 2 - Toronto Regional Real Estate Board says the number of homes sold in September was up 8.5 per cent from the same month last year. And most importantly for buyers - prices have dropped by almost 5% year over year - to just over a million dollars for all home types - condos included. If housing affordability has improved, why does it still feel unaffordable? 3. Is it time for Canada to embrace two-tier health care? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
