As we continue our study on the Holy Spirit, we’re reminded today that true spiritual growth in Jesus Christ is impossible apart from the Spirit’s work in our lives. In Romans 8:13, the apostle Paul urges us to put to death the deeds of the flesh and live according to the Spirit. Our journey of sanctification depends entirely on Him. But take heart, dear friends—we’re not alone. We have the Holy Spirit—our Helper, our constant Companion, our Friend—dwelling within us.

Our world is full of deception and lies. Lies, especially about our God and His character. The world will lead you to believe blasphemy about God, that He is capable of wrong and evil against mankind. Christianity is shown in media as a source of hate and bigotry - but for this reason, God has given us His Word so we can cleanse ourselves of what is untrue. Today in James 1:16-18, we are called to not be deceived and to renew our minds of what is actually true. Our God is good, generous, reliable, faithful, truthful and unstoppable. All good things come from Him! Including every good thing we have on earth and the blessing of salvation through Jesus - the greatest gift. Our Father of Lights is unchanging, in the midst of a confused and ever-changing world. In love today, James reminds us what kind of God we serve.

As we continue our journey into understanding what it means to truly know the Holy Spirit, today we turn our attention to John 3:1–8. Today’s message takes us to James 1:9–11. Known for its practical wisdom, the book of James is often called the "Proverbs of the New Testament," and today’s passage is a clear example. So far, we’ve looked at trials and wisdom—now James turns to the realities of wealth and poverty. While the world elevates the rich, God does the opposite. Earthly riches offer no spiritual advantage. In fact, even if we have nothing materially, we can have everything in Christ. The gospel reorients our view, reminding us that this world is temporary and our true worth is found in our identity in Him. Through salvation, regardless of status or income, we become co-heirs with Christ. Our bank accounts mean nothing in eternity. The question is—do we really believe that?
