Listener Testimonies: How I Began to Truly Walk with Christ
11/14/2025
On this Freedom Friday, freedom rang through the air as we discussed the distinction between labeling oneself as a Christian but not living like one, and actually living as a follower of Christ and disciple. In today’s culture, the word "Christian" has been used as a title to categorize the type of religion one identifies with, rather than being defined as a lifestyle that mirrors Christ’s walk. As Christians, we are called to walk as Christ did, meaning we cannot live as the world tells us to. We turned to the phone lines to ask listeners the question, “When did you change from Christian in name only to a genuine disciple of Jesus Christ?" You can listen to the highlights of today's program on the Karl and Crew Showcast.

Discussion and calls on how the gospel is about provision, but it's always about finding joy and satisfaction; Understanding the greatest provision of the Gospel is loving others enough to tell them the Good News with Dr. David Nelms; and Dr. Alex McFarland shares 10 questions every Christian should be asking
10/30/2025
Today, on Karl and Crew, we continued our theme "Five Stunning Realities of the Gospel. Our scripture reference was Mark 6:42. We had a great discussion on how the Gospel is about provision, yet it's always about satisfaction. God wants us to be satisfied in the soul. We heard so many listener calls sharing the joy they have in God's provisions in their lives...and usually it's the simplest things.
We spoke with Dr. David Nelms, the Founder of The Timothy Initiative (TTI). He shared that one of the most significant provisions of the Gospel is that we can love others and tell others about the Gospel. The Great Commission is great, but the Great Commandment to love others as God has loved us and tell them the Good News is even greater!
Dr. Alex McFarland also joined us. He's a Christian apologist, author, evangelist, and culture analyst. He emphasized that the greatest satisfaction found in the Gospel is the cross! Every other provision and satisfaction comes from what happened on the cross. People can miss the blessings because they don't understand and culture is unstable. He offered 10 Questions Every Christian is asking or soon will be (to receive: text TEN to 1-800-555-7898). Also, his latest book is called "100 Bible Questions and Answers on Prophecy and the End Times".

Today, on Karl and Crew, we continued our theme "Five Stunning Realities of the Gospel. Our scripture reference was Mark 6:14-29. What is the power behind those actions?
Pastor, speaker, and award-winning author, Max Lucado, helped us learn ways to tame our thoughts. His new book is called "Tame Your Thoughts: 3 Tools to Renew Your Mind and Transform Your Life". We must guard our thoughts and weed out unhealthy thought patterns. It's vital to separate the present issue from the real issue.

Are All Religions the Same with Abdu Murray? Why does God allow Christians to Suffer with Dr. Clay Jones?

Today, on Karl and Crew, we continued our weekly “Tough Questions for Christians” theme with discussions about how riches and treasures can keep us from the Kingdom of Heaven, without God. We turn to Mark 10:17-27, which tells us of the rich man earnestly seeking Jesus, but was told to give up his riches to enter Heaven. We had Abdu Murray join us to share his faith story as a former muslim, and he discussed the differences in religions. Does the Bible Promote Homophobia and Sexism with Rebecca McLaughlin? How do Faith and Science Coexist with Dr. Bill West?
10/20/2025
Today, on Karl and Crew, we continued our weekly theme of “Tough Questions for Christians” as we welcomed Rebecca McLaughlin to answer questions about how Jesus' love addresses homophobia and sexism. Rebecca holds a PhD in Renaissance Literature from Cambridge University and a theology degree from Oak Hill College in London. She has also written the book, “Confronting Christianity: 12 Hard Questions for the World’s Largest Religion,” which was named Book of the Year by Christianity Today. Then we had Dr. Bill West join us to discuss the intersection and contradictions between faith and science. Dr. West, a Harvard and Johns Hopkins-trained oncologist and researcher, has advanced cancer care and research for over three decades. He has lectured for more than forty years on the myth of science and faith being at odds, believing they support one another and that science reveals God. He has also written a book called “Sacred Science: Understanding Divine Creation.” We also had Dr. Mark Jobe join us to talk about “Founders Week”, a week of Bible teaching and a time of worship for the Moody Bible Institute (MBI). Dr. Jobe is the 10th President of MBI and the founding Pastor of New Life Community Church in Chicago, as well as the founder of New Life Centers. He is also a graduate of Moody Theological Seminary and the host of the radio show "Bold Steps, " which airs every weekday at 1 pm on 90.1 FM Moody Radio. Is Christianity the White Man’s Religion with Abdu Murray? Why does the Church Ask for Money with Rob West?
10/16/2025
Today, on Karl and Crew, we continued our weekly theme of “Tough Questions for Christians” with discussions about how Jesus sees us when no one else does. We turned to Matthew 20:29-34, where we see how Jesus healed the two blind men who were calling to Him, despite the people in the crowd telling them to be quiet. Jesus saw those two men and healed them of their infirmities. Then we had Abdu Murray join us to share his faith story, from being a Muslim to becoming a believer, and he debunked the racial myths associated with Christianity. Abdu is a speaker, author, and attorney who specializes in addressing issues where religious faith and emerging cultural trends intersect and collide. He is also the President of Embrace the Truth and has spent decades analyzing how major religious and non-religious thought traditions have addressed emerging cultural issues. Then we had Rob West join us to explain the biblical design for financial generosity in the church. Rob is the host of the nationally syndicated radio program Faith and Finance LIVE, which airs weekdays at 3 pm on 90.1 FM. He is also the host of the Faith and Finance podcast and has a FaithFi App. He is also the CEO of Kingdom Advisors, a community of financial professionals specializing in delivering biblically wise financial advice. Why did God choose Israel with Dr. Michael Rydelnik? Why does God allow Evil and Suffering with Jonathan Noyes?
10/15/2025
Today, on Karl and Crew, we continued our weekly theme of “Tough Questions for Christians” with discussions about walking with Jesus despite suffering and tribulations. We turn to John 6:66, where we see a conversation between Jesus and the Twelve Disciples, in which Jesus asks if they intend to leave Him, along with the other disciples. Peter responds by saying there’s no other place they’d rather be because Jesus gives eternal life and they believe He is the Holy One of God. We then turned to the phone lines to ask our listeners, "What was your 'where else would I go' moment with Jesus?" We then had Dr. Michael Rydelnik join us to talk about why God chose Israel. Dr. Rydelnik is a Professor Emeritus of Jewish and Biblical Studies and an adjunct professor in the undergraduate program at MBI. He is also the host and Bible teacher of “Open Line,” which airs every Saturday from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. CT on Moody Broadcasting and over 225 other stations. Then we had Jonathan Noyes join us to share his faith story, explaining how he transitioned from an atheist to a believer and how he came to understand God’s sovereignty amid evil. Jonathan is a Speaker and Outreach Coordinator with Stand to Reason, a nonprofit organization that equips Christian Ambassadors with wisdom, knowledge, and character to share the Gospel. Jonathan was a former atheist who has now become a believer and has a passion for training Christians to think more clearly about their beliefs and effectively communicate why they hold those beliefs to others.
