Art Doesn't Just Happen We Cant Stop Defending Expression Actor Michael Chiklis

4/20/2026
"When we stop defending expression, we start accepting silence," says Tim Daly, President of The Creative Coalition. "That silence begins when we fail to protect both the First Amendment and the institutions that make creativity possible, including vital federal support for the National Endowment for the Arts. Defending the NEA means defending the artists, storytellers, and cultural voices that help define who we are as a nation."Adds Robin Bronk, CEO of The Creative Coalition, "For nearly four decades, The Creative Coalition has operated at the intersection of art and free speech because the two are inseparable. The First Amendment exists to express inconvenient and necessary truths. When we begin to question the value of that freedom, we are weakening the foundation of our democracy. This is the moment to stand behind expression, not step away from it."The Creative Coalition is the premier nonprofit, nonpartisan 501(c)(3) organization of the arts and entertainment community. Founded in 1989 by leaders across the creative sector, The Creative Coalition is dedicated to educating artists on issues of public importance. Led by actor and President Tim Daly, the organization is known for award-winning initiatives - including its signature #RightToBearArts campaign - that leverage storytelling to drive social impact and inspire civic engagement. Unicorn Blue And The Caradoodle Quest The Great New Summer Kid Read From Carroll Titus

4/20/2026
In Unicorn Blue and the Caradoodle Quest, Former Tech Executive Carrol Titus, delivers a striking, dreamlike, stimulating, children’s narrative. The book and software promote critical thinking - navigating learning pathways, interpreting data along them and applying it. The book helps make her STEM software even more accessible and purposeful, engaging both sides of the brain: reason and emotion, intensifies learning engagement, deepening memory, and quickening recall. “Science education is needed to stimulate children’s intellect and imagination and motivate them to consider science to identify opportunities and solve pressing problems. Our children need scientific literacy to apply critical thinking in their everyday activities and to make sense of information. They also need to be able to evaluate evidence and distinguish between poorly supported claims, and best elements of deductive logic. The scientific method is one of the key methods for grounding decision-making in evidence. When children lack exposure to high-quality science curriculum, they miss the opportunity to develop these valuable critical thinking skills.” Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/arroe-collins-like-it-s-live--4113802/support.

Ruta's Closet From Keith Morgan Unpredictable Compassionate Reality In Repeat Mode And More

4/18/2026
Ruta's Closet tells the compelling Holocaust story of a Jewish family, imprisoned in the tiny Shavl ghetto in Lithuania, during World War II, written by journalist Keith Morgan. We are familiar with many of the great Jewish communities of the pre-war years and of their fate when they were turned into ghettos and became the scenes of mass murder and deportation. One such place that is less familiar is the Lithuanian town of Siauliai, known in Yiddish as Shavl. The few survivors of that once vibrant Jewish community have often expressed to me their sadness that it does not figure as prominently as it ought in most accounts of the Holocaust. This book redresses that balance.“The origins of Ruta's Closet trace back to 1997 when I wrote a newspaper column in Vancouver's Province about Holocaust survivor Ruth Kron Sigal, now deceased,” says Morgan. “In my long newspaper career, I’d covered many chilling true-life crimes but her story was the most remarkable I had heard.”It is the true story of how Ruth's family sought to escape the deadly clutches of Hitler's Final Solution in Lithuania. Her parents’ determination to survive grew stronger as members of their Jewish family and good friends died at the hands of the Nazis and marauding armed collaborators. This important book records chilling accounts of mass murders, a cruel Nazi ban on births, forced attendance by young and old at a public hanging, the saving of a ruthless SS officer by a Jewish doctor and the transport of hundreds of ghetto children to their deaths in the gas chambers at the Auschwitz Death Camp. Such events will horrify readers but the bravery shown by the family and their neighbors make it a compelling read -- as intriguing as it is inspirational. While the narrative is fact-based, it reads like fiction, making it accessible to all generations of readers. RFK Jr The Fall And Rise From Award Winning Journalist Isabel Vincent

4/18/2026
Born into one of the most storied families in American history, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was fourteenyears old when his father was assassinated. He has since spent his life grappling with the weight of his family's legacy. Like his martyred father, RFK Jr. longs to be a hero, but he has struggled with his demons. "I knew daddy was watching me, and that he loved me," he wrote in a diary entry, "But I also felt I was disappointing him."Those thoughts were set down in his diary when he was serving out a monthlong prison term in Puerto Rico for civil disobedience. The experience changed his life. Alone in his cell, he was forced to grapple with his personal conflicts-his addictions to drugs and women-but also to question everything that he and his family once held sacred, including their allegiance to the Democratic Party, which had sustained the Kennedy family for generations.RFK Jr. became disillusioned with many of the party's leaders even as he committed himself to carving out a distinct identity as a public servant. He would vow to step up his environmental crusade, later establishing himself as a public health critic with controversial views on vaccines. He became a political maverick. But even now, in his seventies, and after an unexpected pivot into the national spotlight as a political and cultural figure at odds with both the Democratic Party and his family, RFK Jr. is still fighting to live up to the legacy of his father. This timely release marks the one-year anniversary of RFK Jr.'s appointment as Secretary for Health and Human Services, reflecting on his impactful first year in office. It uncovers the personal struggles, family pressures, and political milestones that have shaped his extraordinary and often contradictory life.
