Why does it feel like Satan won't leave me alone? 10 Qs with Mike Winger (Ep 53)

6/6/2025
Today's Time Stamps: 1. 0:02 {Temptation Increasing vs. Satan Fleeing?} The Bible says when we resist the devil, he will flee (James 4:7). So why does it often feel like spiritual warfare INCREASES when we try to buckle down and resist sins of the flesh, addictions, etc.? When I resist, it doesn't feel like the devil flees - it feels like he tries even harder to get me to fall. Why is this? 2. 12:17 {What is Blasphemy?} What is the biblical understanding of blasphemy? A Catholic online was complaining about how Protestants blaspheme Mary. How do we biblically define blasphemy, and what verses support this? 3. 20:16 {Paul vs. Barnabas} What are your thoughts on the dispute between Paul and Barnabas over Mark in Acts 15:37-40? Were either of them at fault? What can we take from it? 4. 30:41 {Seeing God in Creation} Despite Romans 1:20, I do not inherently see God in His creation. I choose to believe in God, but I feel like an ant lacking the capacity to contemplate my surroundings, let alone a creator. 5. 42:26 {How to Share Concerns w/Leadership} Can you share some advice on how to approach church leadership with concerns regarding what appears to be false theology creeping into my church? Specifically: a lot of Hillsong/Elevation songs, TPT references, etc. 6. 49:43 {When AI Grows Too Much} If AI (Artificial Intelligence} keeps developing to where society at large starts to call it sentient, would we as Christians have to stand in opposition to that? 7. 52:20 {Resolving 2 Challenging Passages} 1 Chronicles 20:5 and 2 Samuel 21:19 seem to disagree with each other. How should we think biblically about these two passages? 8. 57:50 {Protection from Legalism} How do you keep yourself from legalism? I’m breaking an addiction right now, and it feels like I’m doing it to be saved instead of because I am saved. It’s also been hard to rely on God lately. 9. 1:03:45 {Is MMA OK for Christians?} Is participating in MMA wrong? I'm a new Christian and I'm conflicted and want to do right. I've just signed with a big promotion but now I don't know what would please God. Please Help! 10. 1:10:25 {The Role of Physical Attraction} What role should perceived physical attractiveness play in choosing a partner? Bonus Q! 1:15:27 How many funny shirts does Mike Winger own? Here's an article on the question about who killed Goliath: Click Here I'm taking questions from the live chat... here are the rules: I do this live stream most Fridays at 1 p.m. Pacific Time. Does THIS Bible verse teach Sola Scriptura? 10 Qs with Mike Winger (Ep 52)

5/30/2025
Today's Time Stamps: 1. 0:10 {2 Thess. 2 = Sola Scriptura?} Does 2 Thessalonians 2 teach Sola Scriptura? 2. 10:51 {Jesus’ Deity: Why isn’t the NT Clearer?} In Titus 2:13, Is Paul explicitly saying Jesus is God and Savior? Why do New Testament authors often not address Jesus as God and appear to place Jesus outside of the Godhead (e.g. 2 John 1:3)? 3. 20:04 {Biblical Recipe for Anointing Oil?} The book of James tells us that if any are sick they should call for the elders and get anointed. Shouldn’t we be using the anointing oil recipe in Exodus 30:23-25 instead of just olive oil like most people use? 4. 27:03 {Personalities in Heaven} I believe that we will still have our personality in Heaven, but what about unborn babies? Will they walk around in Heaven like non-player characters since they haven't formed their own personality yet? 5. 32:22 {“Buried with Him in Baptism”} Can you help me understand Colossians 2:12? Is this water baptism? Which baptism is it? 6. 38:13 {Where Was God Before Genesis?} Where was God before Genesis 1? If space, matter, and time was created, what was before it? Heaven and the angels already existed, so where was the “nothing” where God created everything in Genesis 1? 7. 45:01 {About Jesus’ Omnipresence} I have a question about God’s nature. Since the Godhead hold all of their being in one indivisible present, in theory, could Jesus have been on Earth and in Heaven concurrently? 8. 53:12 {The Atonement: The Importance of Jesus’ Deity} Why did Jesus have to be God to be the acceptable sacrifice? If it was Jesus’ humanity that died on the cross and not His divine nature, why did Jesus have to be fully God? 9. 59:34 {Can Christians Benefit from Secular Therapy?} What are your thoughts on secular therapy for a Christian? Self-help and self-idealization seem antithetical to the Bible. Why isn't the counsel of Scripture and other believers enough? 10. 1:06:54 {Must Jesus be Lord of Our Lives?} Does receiving Christ begin with you trusting in His death and resurrection, or is there more to do, such as submitting to His lordship and then we are saved? 1:12:15 Bonus Q! What are your 3 favorite books of the Bible, and why? No cop-outs! Thanks so much for your ministry, Mike, it's such a blessing. Vineyard Pastor and False Prophet: My Warning about Micah Turnbo

5/3/2025
Micah Turnbo, as of 5/3/2025 is a pastor/seer/prophet at Vineyard Northwest in Ohio. He teaches many people through online ministry and has more visions and supernatural experiences than anyone in the Bible, it seems. I'll share evidence that he is a false prophet, deceiver, and shares obviously false experiences and even teaches some things that contradict the Bible. Why do this? Because we are commanded to test all things. When someone has millions of eyes and ears on their prophecies and visions it's important that they be subjected to public testing. Do I have my own "private prayer language"? 10 Qs with Mike Winger (Ep 50)

5/2/2025
Question Time Stamps for Quick Reference: 1. 1:48 {Do All Christians Have the Gift of Tongues?} Do Christians all have access to a “private prayer language” (speaking in tongues) according to Scripture? 2. 11:31 {A Judgment for Widows?} What is the judgment put on widows in 1 Timothy 5:12, and how do we know we can change course without judgment? Does it apply to keeping an unchanging devotion time with God? My goals can get legalistic. 3. 22:05 {Slaves or Brothers?} Why in Scripture are we told we are the slaves of Christ, as well as the brothers of Christ? 4. 24:57 {Shame and Pride Related?} Is the feeling of shame the byproduct of pride? 5. 28:07 {Permissible Doubts vs. Double-mindedness} Can you explain the difference between the man in Mark 9:24 and the double-minded man talked about in James 1:5-8? I find myself relating to the former a lot, but I also fear being double-minded. 6. 37:36 {Choosing a Denomination: Important?} Do you think it's important to choose a denomination? I have people pressuring me to choose one, but I don't feel ready to do that (I'm new) and I’m wondering if it's important at all. 7. 42:52 {Is Progressive Sanctification Biblical?} While I know sanctification is real and biblical, if we are dead to sin after salvation as mentioned in Romans 7, why do we need progressive sanctification? 8. 55:34 {Witnessing to an LGBTQ+ Family Member} My aunt is gay but claims to be a Christian. I have never talked with her about this, but I feel I am doing her a disservice by not lovingly sharing the truth with her. How can I go about this? 9. 1:00:37 {Tourism or Idolatry?} I’m planning a trip to Japan and would like to visit some of the shrines for the tourism aspect, but I don’t want to sin against God or put my family at risk of demonic exposure. Is this acceptable? 10. 1:07:01 {Believing & Receiving Biblically} How do I pray for something and believe I’ve received it (Mark 11:24) such as healing or peace, if I don't know how God is using the illness or anxiety in my life or someone else's life? Taking Scripture Back From Your Spiritual Abuser: Naomi Wright

How to Spot Fake Humility: 10 Qs with Mike Winger (Ep 49)

4/11/2025
Question Time Stamps for Quick Reference: 1. 0:18 {False Humility: Pride vs. Confidence} What does biblical humility look like, and how can Christians avoid pride while still being confident in their calling? 2. 23:10 {Does God Speak to Unbelievers?} My Mormon friend said, “I felt like God was telling me…” while reading the Bible. Is that really God? Does He speak to unbelievers? How is it any different when Christians read the Word and pray? 3. 26:47 {Salvation: Knowing the Exact Moment} I heard you talk about how you once questioned whether or not you were saved because you couldn’t name the specific time or event where it happened. How did you overcome that? I’m in the same situation. 4. 31:29 {Tongues During Corporate Prayer?} How do I let someone know that when they pray in tongues during our corporate prayer time, it's distracting? I believe the gift of tongues is for personal edification. I'm not a Cessasionist, by the way. 5. 38:46 {Faithful Believers in Unbiblical Offices?} What do you think about genuine Christians who have served in offices that aren't biblical, like bishops, priests, monks, etc.? Does God use faithful believers serving in unbiblical offices? 6. 40:24 {How did Martha Know?} In John 11, when Martha says she knows her brother will rise in the resurrection on the last day, did she know that from the Old Testament, or from Jesus’ teachings? 7. 42:36 {Jesus’ Sacrifice: Human Sacrifice?} If God doesn't allow human sacrifice, how do we reconcile Jesus' sacrifice? 8. 46:38 {Balancing Kindness & “Tough Love”} How do you maintain kindness in the midst of tension while advocating for yourself or others? Some people lean toward kindness and don't speak up, while others lean toward speaking harsh truth, with an emphasis on harshness. 9. 49:57 {Growing in Self-Discipline} Do you have any advice on how to become disciplined in life, such as in the realm of Bible study, sleep schedule, and working efficiently? How do I learn to force myself to do things? 10. 52:15 {Guarding Against Greed & Corruption} As your influence grows, how do you personally guard against the temptations of greed and the misuse of power, like the corrupted leaders you're revealing? When does my sin block my prayers according to Scripture? 10 Qs with Mike Winger (Ep 48)

3/28/2025
Today's Time Stamps: 1. 0:23 {My Sin Blocks My Prayers?} Psalm 66:18 says, "If I had cherished iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not have listened." Does this mean God will ignore a person's prayers if they have active, ongoing sin in their life? How should we understand this verse in context and alongside other Scriptures about God hearing prayers? 2. 9:07 {Biblically Defining a “Church”} Biblically (not legally), what constitutes a church? If someone were to host a weekly Bible study and do some volunteer work with just a few people, would that be considered a small church service? 3. 15:29 {Support for Limited Atonement?} How does John 17:9 work alongside John 3:16? Could John 17:9 be a valid point toward Limited Atonement? I do not want to believe in Limited Atonement, but I see verses like this and wonder. 4. 24:40 {Discerning God’s Voice & Direction} My girlfriend recently told me that God told her to break up with me. She got us "promise bracelets" that promise that we will get married. Is what she heard really from God? 5. 29:26 {Agape vs. Phileo Love} Are agape and phileo love synonymous in Greek? John 3:19 & John 12:43 use agape for loving darkness and men's praise, respectively, while John 5:20 uses phileo to describe the Father's love for the Son. 6. 34:29 {Non-Sapien Hominids: Thinking Biblically} How do non-sapien hominids (Neanderthal, Denisovan, Floresiensis, etc.) fit into creation? Do they have the Imago Dei? Are they animals? 7. 39:19 {The Apostle John Still Alive?} Have you ever heard the theory that the Apostle John might still be alive and be the second witness in the Tribulation? I found the arguments interesting, as conjecture. 8. 45:47 {Is Anointing Oil for Today?} Should we still use oil anointing today (used by elders praying for the sick)? What would that look like? 9. 52:00 {An Error in Translation?} In the NIV translation, Deuteronomy 22:28-30 uses the word “rape,” but other translations imply consent. Is this a legitimate translation error? 10. 57:16 {Are Charitable Tax Deductions Sinful?} Is claiming our charitable donations on our taxes “receiving our reward on Earth” (Matthew 6:1-5)? Jehovah's Witnesses Just Came to My House: 10 Qs with Mike Winger (Ep 47)

3/21/2025
Question Time Stamps for Quick Reference: 1. 0:38 {The JWs Came Over} What happened when the Jehovah’s Witnesses came to my house? 2. 17:05 {So Many Saw – So Little Believed?} Since many saw the saints who were raised to life (Matthew 27:52-53) then more than 500 saw Jesus after His resurrection, how is it that so many didn’t believe He rose (e.g. Saul pre-Damascus)? 3. 24:02 {Circumcision: How would Paul Respond?} In Galatians 3, Paul says faith, not law, saves us, citing Abraham’s heirs (Galatians 3:7, 28-29). How would he respond to Judaizers citing Genesis 17:9-14 on circumcision as necessary? Why doesn’t this apply now? 4. 29:47 {Online Ordination: Mocking God?} My brother asked me to officiate his wedding. They’re not believers, and I’m female. The only way to do it is to get ordained online. That feels like mocking God and His church. Biblical thoughts? 5. 34:48 {“Spirit Princes” – For Today?} Can you explain Daniel 10:13 and 10:20? What is the ‘spirit prince’ of the kingdom of Persia (NLT)? Is the concept of a spirit prince over a region only seen in the Old Testament, or can this happen today? 6. 43:08 {How Could a Million Hear at Once?} How can the entire community of Israel, more than 1 million people, fit together & gather to hear (Leviticus 8:3, Deuteronomy 29:10-12, 31:10-13)? 7. 47:44 {PSA – Contradicting Proverbs?} If Penal Substitutionary Atonement is an accurate doctrine, then isn't it contradicting Proverbs 17:15? 8. 53:11 {Encouragement through Arduous Times} What gives people the will to live in the midst of terror, hardship, poverty, pain, childhood abuse, loss, and all other types of calamity (specifically non-Christians, but also Christians)? 9. 58:30 {Garden of Gethsemane: What is The Cup?} In the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus prays for the Father to let the cup pass from Him. I've understood the cup to be God's wrath, but Jesus says a few chapters later that James & John will drink it, too. 10. 1:04:02 {Antichrist: Dead at Christ’s Coming?} Does the Antichrist die or not at Christ's coming (2 Thessalonians 2:8, Revelation 19:20)? Is it exclusively a Catholic observance, or is there a way for non-Catholics to participate? Should we participate at all? 2. 22:01 {Bethlehem vs. Nazareth?} Why is Jesus in Bethlehem when the wise men come in Matthew 2:7-11? Luke 2:22 and 2:39 say they returned to Nazareth after the 40 day purification rites. Did Matthew make up their hometown as Bethlehem? 3. 29:16 {1,000 Year Reign: On Earth?} Is there biblical evidence that the 1,000 year reign of Christ as described in Revelation is on Earth? I hear a lot about the 1,000 year reign specifically being on Earth, but I fail to see the word “Earth” anywhere. 4. 34:22 {Ways our Worship Could Improve} What do you think about what the Bible teaches about principles of worship? How can our worship improve in the American Protestant churches? 5. 41:27 {Does Calvinism Challenge God’s Justice?} I watched your video on Calvinism and it was amazing! But the question I still have is, does Calvinism go against God’s justice? God is just, and that’s a fact. Would that alone disprove Calvinism? 6. 49:24 {Do God’s Children Deserve God’s Love?} We always say we don't "deserve anything" from God, but how biblical is this? Don't children deserve a degree of love from their parents? 7. 54:43 {Passover vs. Yom Kippur} Why was Jesus' atoning sacrifice on Passover instead of Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement)? I've looked everywhere but can't find an answer. 8. 58:27 {The Calling of a Pastor} I’m 17 and have a huge desire to go into pastoral ministry. I feel called and equipped for this, but hear a lot of people say God has to speak to you directly to do this. Is my burden for this enough? 9. 1:06:38 {Andrew’s vs. Peter’s Calling} Matthew 4:18-22 and John 1:35-42 seem to have two very different accounts of how Andrew and Peter were called to follow Christ. Can you please explain this? 10. 1:11:24 {How to be a “Fisher of Men”} What does it mean to be “fishers of men”? A leader at my seeker church said it meant to use bait to get them in. We can't let them continue to get away with it: 10 Qs with Mike Winger (Ep 45)

2/14/2025
Today's Time Stamps: 1. 0:15 {Should We Expose Pastors?} Can you provide an overview of why it is biblical and right to expose abusive and harmful pastors and those who are in positions of Christian leadership? 2. 33:41 {Fallen Angels – Past or Future?} I’ve heard someone say that Satan hasn’t taken a third of the heavenly angels yet, but will do it in the future (Revelation 12:3-4, 7-9). Is that a possibility? 3. 38:35 {David’s Story: Exempting Accountability?} How should we respond to people who use the story of David and other flawed biblical figures, whom God still used, to justify their own sinful behavior, especially when in positions of power? 4. 45:48 {Are Body Piercings Sinful?} What does the Bible say about piercings? If a woman who serves in the worship ministry gets a belly piercing, should she no longer be allowed to serve in that ministry? 5. 50:31 {Indwelling of the Spirit: How it Differs} What about the indwelling of the Holy Spirit makes us unique compared to Old Covenant believers? I’ve never quite grasped what difference it makes. 6. 53:22 {Does the Spirit Still Teach & Guide Us?} Jesus tells the apostles that the Holy Spirit will “teach them all things” (John 14:16) and “guide them into all the truth” (John 16:13). What exactly does this entail, and was it only for the apostles? 7. 1:00:34 {Reuel vs. Jethro: Contradiction?} Is there an explanation for why Moses’ father-in-law appears to have two different names (Exodus 2:18 (Reuel) & Exodus 18:2 (Jethro))? 8. 1:02:41 {Jonah: Failed Prophecies?} I recently had a Mormon claim it’s OK that Joseph Smith had failed prophecies because Jonah also did. He claimed Deuteronomy 18:22 didn’t apply to either of them. Thoughts? 9. 1:09:28 {Shad., Mesh., & Abed…Did they Know?} In Daniel 3:16-18, how did Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego know that God would deliver them from the fiery furnace? 10. 1:13:28 {Our Work in Eternity} Are there any hints in Scripture about what kind of work we will do in God's Kingdom in the future? Wrong about the gift of prophecy: 10 Qs with Mike Winger (Ep 44)

2/7/2025
Question Time Stamps for Quick Reference: 1. 0:26 {Prophecy Always Positive?} Is the gift of prophecy always supposed to yield a positive, uplifting revelation? 2. 20:38 {Praying Over Things?} What are your thoughts on praying over a house or object? Is that superstition? 3. 24:23 {Giving Time vs. Money?} Is it ever OK to give time instead of money to church? How do we balance giving vs. saving, especially if giving might cause debt (Mark 12:41-44, Romans 13:1-8)? I also have a family to provide for. 4. 31:18 {Parable of the Wedding Feast} Can you please explain the parable in Matthew 22:1-14 (The Parable of the Wedding Feast)? I don’t understand the meaning. 5. 40:06 {Should I Be Rebaptized?} I fell out of the faith years ago and recently came back and feel like I should get baptized again. Is there anything for or against this in the Bible? 6. 47:26 {Is God Selfish?} Do you believe that God is selfish in everything He does? It seems even His "selfless" acts are done for His own sake (Psalm 106:8, dying on the cross for His own glory, etc.). Would that motivation be wrong? 7. 56:56 {Is Baptismal Regeneration Heresy?} Is believing that baptism is for the remission of sins based on Acts 2: 38 heresy? Is someone who was thusly baptized then not saved? 8. 1:11:49 {Sinful Vows: Binding?} Are vows made in sin or amidst sinful circumstances still binding in eyes of God (Ecclesiastes 5:5, Joshua 9, Genesis 27, Judges 12)? 9. 1:16:29 {Isaiah 14: About Satan?} Is Isaiah 14:3-20 about Satan? It says it is to the King of Babylon, but I have heard verses 12-14 used in reference to Satan. Just curious about your thoughts on it! 10. 1:24:02 {Did David Violate Deut. 24?} How was David able to take Michal back as his wife? Isn’t that a violation of Deuteronomy 24, and does that apply today? Is JD Vance right? 10 Qs with Mike Winger (Ep 43)

1/31/2025
Today's Time Stamps: 1. 0:20 {JD Vance’s Christian Concept} Is JD Vance’s “Christian concept” of love truly Christian? 2. 28:00 {Resisting Temptation in the Workplace} What advice would you give to somebody who feels vulnerable to worldliness in the workplace? Not only do I spend most of my time there, but all of my coworkers knew me pre-salvation. It’s a struggle. 3. 33:06 {Should Children be Taught about Hell?} What should children who would go to Heaven if they die be taught about Hell, if anything? It may make them afraid that they would go there. 4. 36:06 {The Unsaved: Prayer Priorities?} Is it appropriate to pray for the physical healing of an unsaved person? Isn’t it more reasonable to pray that they would come to faith in Christ? What is the "prayer priority" in this situation? 5. 38:51 {Specific Moment of Salvation?} Do you have to have a specific date of salvation, or can salvation be a gradual thing/realization? This has been a debate within our current Bible study. 6. 43:17 {God’s Omnipresence} Within God’s omnipresence, is that confined to spatial and spiritual dimensions? Or does that include Him being present across all of time, as well? As in He’s currently in all times all at once? 7. 49:06 {Disqualifications for Serving?} What disqualifies someone from non-pastoral ministry? Are the rules for pastors the same for sound techs, ushers, etc.? 8. 56:02 {Brands/Products: Letting in Spirits?} Are there specific brands or products that Christians shouldn‘t use? I’ve seen videos showing things like makeup products Christians shouldn't use because they let in spirits. Should I throw these away? 9. 1:01:12 {Jacob’s Wrestling: Father or Son?} Do you believe Jacob wrestled with God the Father or God the Son (Hosea 12:4 and Genesis 32)? 10. 1:06:44 {Tribulation Saints: Position in Heaven?} In the pre-tribulation view of the rapture, if the raptured Church is the Bride of Christ, then what position/purpose in Heaven do the tribulation saints hold? 11. 1:10:36 (Bonus) Prayer Request from Jacob: Can you and your listeners please pray for my sister Darby's pregnancy? The other day we found out she was having twins, but at the same time she was told she's most likely going to miscarry. The babies are measuring smaller than they should, with no heartbeats detected. Please join us in asking God to miraculously breathe life into her babies again. I do this live stream most Fridays at 1 p.m. Pacific Time. You're welcome to join. 1/17/2025
Question Time Stamps for Quick Reference: 1. 0:03 {The Upside-Down Kingdom Bible} What are your thoughts on the newly released Zondervan NIV Upside-Down Kingdom Bible, edited by Dr. Preston Sprinkle? 2. 1:18:50 {Helping Children Grasp the Gospel} As a pastor to the youth for so long, what would you recommend parents do with their children to help them have a personal relationship with God? 3. 1:21:00 {Moses/Genesis: When/How?} When/how did Moses acquire the contents and narrative of Genesis? 4. 1:22:27 {Is Marriage an Oath?} James 5:12 says not to make oaths, but isn’t getting married making an oath? 5. 1:26:35 {Overcoming the Grip of Sin} What’s the balance between the Holy Spirit changing us, and us trying to do good works and love God? I just feel so stuck in my sin. I don’t know how to get out of this habit. I’m scared my repentance isn’t real. 6. 1:31:29 {Sin in the Millennium?} Will there be sin in the Millennium? Will that affect our glorified bodies and our lives in the Millennium? 7. 1:34:37 {Corporal Punishment: More Harm than Good?} I’m a new parent doing research. I’ve heard that the Bible supports corporal punishment, but also that scientific studies say corporal punishment has negative outcomes. How do you reconcile these two things? 8. 1:38:10 {Disciples: Not Recognizing Jesus?} There are some Scriptures where the disciples don’t recognize the resurrected Jesus. Is this because they are prevented by Jesus, or did He actually look different? 9. 1:41:29 {Water & Blood: 1 John 4} What is the significance of the water and the blood in 1 John 4:6, 8? 10. 1:45:03 {Relationships with Family in Eternity} What do you think our relationship will be like with family members in Heaven? Will we know each other? Will we still sort of be related? I know there won't be marriage. 11. (Bonus Q!) 1:46:45 Who's your favorite LOTR character? I bet it's Treebeard. How much should pastors be paid? 10 Qs with Mike Winger (Ep 41)

1/10/2025
Question Time Stamps for Quick Reference: 1. 0:43 {The Pastor’s Salary: How MUCH?} How much should pastors be paid for their work in the ministry? 2. 37:30 {Interpretations for Private Tongues?} When the gift of speaking in tongues is in operation, do the same requirements and standards exist for private/smaller ministry gatherings as they do the corporate gatherings of a church service? For example, if someone in the background is praying in tongues while you are praying for someone at a hospital, does that still demand an interpretation? 3. 49:38 {Images of God: Ever Biblical?} Author J.I. Packer states that the 2nd commandment forbids using images of God for worship (such as paintings or statues/icons of God) and that images cannot capture His power & only serve as a crutch when worshiping Him. Thoughts? 4. 58:19 {Was Jesus Tempted with Unbelief?} As a former atheist, the verse in Hebrews 4:15 comforts and confuses me; how could the Son of Man be tempted with unbelief in Himself? 5. 1:03:03 {Immediate or Messianic Prophecy?} It looks like Isaiah 7:14 is fulfilled in Isaiah 8:4. The prophecy seems to describe something immediate and not messianic. What do we do with Matthew seemingly saying it is a messianic prophecy? 6. 1:07:45 {How to “Obey the Gospel”} How do we answer those who think “obeying the Gospel” means physical obedience (works)? They cite verses like 1 Peter 1:22, 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9, Romans 10:16, and Matthew 7: 21. 7. 1:16:07 {Did The Apostles Misunderstand?} I’m struggling with the apostles believing that Jesus’ return was happening within their lifetime. How can we trust everything else they said to be inspired by God if they got this wrong? 8. 1:22:22 {Not Enough Prayer in Church?} Why do we pray so little collectively during Sunday services? Singing makes up 40%, while praying roughly 1-2%. This does not seem to line up biblically or historically (Acts 2:42; 1 Timothy 2:1-8). 9. 1:28:55 {Gospel Contradictions?} Is there an irreconcilable contradiction in the Gospels as to whether Jesus instructed The Twelve to take a staff (Matt 10: 10, Mark 6:8)? How should this affect our view on inerrancy? 10. 1:32:52 {Resolving to Follow Christ Amid Doubts} Can you be saved by choosing the Christian life at any moment and hoping it’s real, or do you have to be convinced? What conditions do you need from God or yourself? Do you have to be feeling a certain way? 1:44:00 Bonus! Guitar Time, courtesy of Seth Yoder’s request. What is Jesus teaching us about Hades (not Hell)? 10 Qs with Mike Winger (Ep 40)

1/3/2025
Question Time Stamps for Quick Reference: 1. 0:02 {What is Hades Like?} Looking at Luke 16:19-31 (Rich Man and Lazarus), what does this parable teach us about the afterlife, and how literally should the depiction in that passage of Heaven and Hell be taken? 2. 33:27 {Making Decisions “From Faith”} Is there a difference between indecisiveness and doing things “not from faith” (Romans 14:23)? I struggle to make decisions and feel guilty about doing things without being 100% sure it’s God’s will. 3. 46:03 {The Great Wealth Transfer} What is your opinion on the movement of "The Great Wealth Transfer" that prosperity preachers teach, where believers obtain unbelievers’ land and wealth? 4. 51:09 {Difficult OT Passages} Nahum 3:5-6 is hard for me to reconcile with our holy and loving God. Can you help me understand this? 5. 1:00:21 {Praying Biblically in Dire Situations} Is it a lack of faith in me to not pray for a miraculous healing for a fatal diagnosis in my baby I’m carrying, and instead be praying primarily for strength, comfort, and peace? 6. 1:05:38 {Does Jesus NOW Know?} Did Jesus’ limits He placed on Himself while on Earth disappear once He resurrected/exalted to Heaven (Matthew 24:36, No one knows the day or the hour except the Father)? Could Jesus know now? 7. 1:10:22 {Should Morality be Legislated?} How do I respond to a Christian who thinks things (like abortion and transgenderism) are wrong but that they shouldn’t vote to have the government legislate against it to restrain/correct non-Christians (forcing it on them)? 8. 1:17:10 {Avoiding the “Barn Building” Attitude} I feel the need/desire to make good money - that it's necessary to feel secure, to be a provider, and yes - to have some nice things (a house, vacations, etc.). Am I the Luke 12 barn builder? 9. 1:24:07 {Spiritual Significance of The Election?} What do you think of invoking biblical figures like David, Cyrus, and Jehu when talking about President-elect Trump? Does his election have spiritual significance? 10. 1:27:39 {Let “US” Make Man in “OUR” Image?} In Genesis 1:26 God said, "Let us make man in our image." Who is the “us” He’s talking about?
