Tylenol and autism: Is there a connection?

Today, the Trump Administration announced that they have found links between taking Tylenol during pregnancy and autism. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Junior said, earlier this year, that he wanted to find a root cause to autism by this month, but many researchers who have studied autism links for decades say several months isn't enough time. In this special coverage on Midday, Maria Shilaos talks with two people to get their perspectives on the news. After the initial story, she speaks with Dr. Richard Ferguson, President-Black Physicians of Utah, to understand what the science says about autism and any potential connections to acetaminophen. After that, she speaks with Calleen Kenney of the Autism Council of Utah for her perspective on the news and the messaging around it.
