Formed after a chance meeting during Australian composer and saxophonist Matt Keagan's 2009 Shantiniketan visit, The Three Seas brings together artists across cultures to create a fusion of Australian Jazz and Rock Reggae with Himalayan and North Indian folk music. Nepal’s newly appointed Home Minister Sudan Gurung has stepped down following growing questions over his finances. Nepali photojournalist Narendra Shrestha is one of the winners of the 2026 World Press Photo Contest. His image, captured during the Gen Z protests in Nepal last September, which shows the Singha Durbar engulfed in flames, was selected as a joint winner in the ‘Singles’ category for the West, Central and South Asia region, alongside two other photographs. As more people build “home studios” to watch movies, has the need for sound design in Nepal’s film industry changed over the years? Nepal correspondent Girish Subedi spoke with senior sound designer and trainer Bipin Sthapit, who has been working in the industry for over three decades.
