The Great Controversy Between Christ and Satan
Ellen G. White
This audiobook is narrated by a digital voice.
Before sin, Adam had direct communion with God, but this privilege was lost when humanity fell into sin. Through the plan of redemption, God restored a way for people to reconnect with Him. He communicated His truth through the Holy Spirit, inspiring chosen servants to share divine revelations.
For about 2,500 years, God’s truth was passed down orally. Beginning with Moses, these revelations were written, and over about 1,600 years the Bible was completed by different authors. Although written by human hands in different styles, the Bible’s message comes from God through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. The Ten Commandments were spoken and written directly by God, while the rest of Scripture expresses God’s truth through human language, showing a union of the divine and the human—similar to the nature of Christ.
Though the Bible’s writers emphasize different aspects of truth, their messages are harmonious when carefully studied. God guided them through His Spirit to communicate the knowledge necessary for salvation. Therefore, the Scriptures are the authoritative standard for doctrine, character, and spiritual experience.
The Holy Spirit continues to help believers understand and apply the Bible, but it never replaces or contradicts it. All teachings and spiritual impressions must be tested by Scripture. Ignoring the Bible in favor of personal impressions can lead to deception.
Jesus promised that the Holy Spirit would guide believers into truth, and this promise applies to the church in all ages. The gifts of the Spirit strengthen the church until believers grow into spiritual maturity. The outpouring of the Spirit at Pentecost partially fulfilled Joel’s prophecy and will reach its full fulfillment during the final work of the gospel.
