Conversation Street Episode 728

4/18/2026
On this week's podcast, we take a look at what went on in Weatherfield between the 10th and the 17th April 2026 (Episodes #11,832 - 11,837) Although on the whole we felt like this was another good week Corrie, it still demonstrated to us the very highs and very lows of what the show can deliver nowadays. On the one hand, you have an embarrassing 'fire' at Roy's Rolls that was achieved with not even a flicker of a flame and just a load of very CGI-looking smoke; on the other, you have Wednesday's exemplary single thread episode that followed Todd and his friends as he finally broke free of Theo's control and went to the police after another terrible beating. Props to everyone involved there, and we really do hope that the smiling Todd we enjoyed at the end of the week is the one we'll be seeing a lot more of in the coming weeks and months - he deserves it! Also this week, Carl discovers another potential source of cash, Jodie puts her stolen warrant card to use and Ben continues to be at loggerheads with Maggie. In the Kabin, we take a look abut how some ex-Corrie cast have been getting on in I'm A Celeb, and we round off the show with a bumper crop of your fantastic feedback. Behind The Scenes: Swarla Wedding and Murder Mystery Press Day!

4/16/2026
Last week, we were lucky enough to be invited behind the scenes at Coronation Street for a press day, where as well as being able to view a sneak preview of some very special upcoming episodes, we had the chance to chat with a bunch of cast members and take a look around Underworld and Debbie's flat! But that wasn't all that made this trip to Manchester special: we also got to take a picture with Barbara Knox at a prestigious local event, met with CBBC star and mega Corrie fan Hacker T Dog and went on the Coronation Street Experience on a bunch of lovely puppers! On this special episode of the podcast, we chat about our experience - and you can check out the YouTube version, which is overlaid with a tonne of photos and footage from the weekend right here: https://youtu.be/Lst5Z1LMvC8

Conversation Street Episode 727

4/9/2026
We're up in Manchester again at the moment with a couple of busy days ahead of us, so we've had to record early this week, covering the episodes of running from Sunday 5th to Thursday 9th April (Episodes #11,828 - 11,832). There’s a huge Easter bombshell for Steve and Ben this week as Maggie drops the news that they’re half-brothers. Both men are left reeling, but it’s Ben who’s hit hardest, immediately fearing what it could mean for his own health - has he inherited his newly discovered da’s condition? In fact, medical drama is everywhere you look this week (though, refreshingly for Corrie, not a hospital scene in sight!). Sam appears to be in the grip of a serious mental health crisis whilst Debbie undergoes an MRI scan that confirms her dementia is worsening. Elsewhere, klepto Jodie adds yet another item to her growing stash, Tim decides it’s time to confront Tricia, and Theo walks in on Todd and Sarah together at the flat - but what fallout lies ahead for poor Todd? Another slow news week this week, but still plenty of feedback, so we round off the episode with another rummage through the virtual mailbag! Street Talk - 00:09:32 Feedback - 02:32:50

Dead Cert - With Two Weeks To Go, We Weigh Up The Corrie Killer Odds!

4/6/2026
With just over two weeks to go until a mystery death rocks the cobbles, we’re reopening Barlow's Bookies and weighing up the odds on the five prime candidates. Who’s made the most enemies? Whose time on the Street feels like it’s running out? And which death would cause the biggest ripple effect in the weeks to come? Jodie, Carl, Maggie, Theo and Megan have all been stirring up trouble lately, and any one of them could be heading for a grisly end. In this episode, we break down the evidence, weigh up the motives, and rank them from rank outsider to dead cert. Who do you think won’t make it out alive? Let us know your own predictions!

Conversation Street Episode 726

4/4/2026
On our Eastery edition of the podcast, we take a look back at what egg-citing adventures the residents of Weatherfield got up to between the 29th March and the 3rd April (Episodes #11,823 - 11,827). Corrie was back on fine form again this week thanks to the Driscoll story continuing to move at a good pace - and with Will now thinking his grandma's responsible for the death of his unborn baby and Ben now questioning his own parentage after an unfortunate slip of the tongue from his ma, Maggie could well be in the firing line when April 23rd comes around... Meanwhile, the penny finally drops for Gary that there was maybe something a bit off about last week's wedding ceremony, and he leaves Theo in no doubt that he's onto him. Also this week, a ruckus in the prison earns Lou some time in solitary, George's day in court arrives and Jodie cancels Bethany's date behind her back - what exactly is she up to..? Another quiet week on the news front means there's no Kabin, but there's plenty of feedback to get through so we end the podcast with more of your thoughts on recent Corrie. An Audience With Helen Worth

4/1/2026
Recently, we headed up north again for a very special event that was being held at the Hope Mill Theatre - a live interview with Corrie legend Helen Worth! And not only that, but the person asking the questions was Julie Hesmondhalgh, known to millions of Corrie viewers as the beloved Hayley Cropper. In this episode of the podcast, we chat about some of our favourite tidbits from the interview as well as sharing what we discovered might be coming up on the show in a few months' time after noticing a few clues on set when we took a quick tour of the cobbles. Conversation Street Episode 725

3/27/2026
Will's clearly still in denial, Mal makes an offer most vile, and Theo takes Todd up the aisle! With no Friday Corrie this week, we're coming at you early with this episode of the podcast, covering the 23rd to the 26th March trips to Weatherfield (Episodes #11,819 - 11,822). After last week's heavy Driscoll focus, this week's action mainly favoured the Theo and Todd story, and whilst many viewers may well have forgotten that their wedding had been planned for this week, Theo clearly hadn't, and managed to weedle his was back into Todd's affections just in time. And what a peculiar wedding it was! On the one hand, you've got Corrie making out that this is a serious story about coercive control and abusive relationships; on the other, you've got comedy incompetent registrar and Gary and Maria obliviously cheering on from the sidelines despite major red flags? We certainly had a lot to unpack here! Also on the cobbles this week, a paranoid Sam chucks away his mobile phone, Mal makes an indecent proposal to Bernie, and Carla and Lisa struggle with babysitting duties for Connie. After a quick news section where we cover Corrie's recent Bafta nod, we finish things off with more of your feedback. Street Talk - 00:11:14 The Kabin - 02:39:21 Feedback - 02:41:55

Listener Questions

3/24/2026
For this week's bonus podcast, we delve into the mailbag once more and pull out two more of your listener questions to debate. First off, we pull together some ideas for our dream Coronation Street convention. If money were no issue, what sort of things would we organise to make the uptime Corrie fan weekend? Then, we turn to the ever-topical subject of issues-based storylines. What makes an issue story land without feeling preachy - or like it’s chasing awards - and which past Corrie storylines do we think have got it just right? Join us as we share our ideas, and as always, we’d love to hear your thoughts on both topics too!

Conversation Street Episode 724

3/21/2026
On our latest episode of the podcast, we chat about all the Corrie drama between the 16th and the 20th March (Episodes #11,814 - 11,818). And what a week it was! Like many Corrie fans, we were pretty sceptical of the grooming plot line when it first kicked off last November - did the new family at the helm of the Rovers really need something as grubby and controversial as this as their establishing story? This week, however, when Sam finally confessed his suspicions, when Daniel discovered that Megan was pregnant - and likely with Will's baby - and when the Battersby sisters and the Driscolls united to bring her down... quite frankly, we were gripped from start to finish! Not that it's finished yet, of course - April 23rd is still over a month away... Elsewhere on the Street, Mal finally woke up and definitely seemed like he knew more than he was letting on to Kit about his attack, Adam's refusal to drop Jackie as a client led to the company's emails being leaked, and Theo continued to try and worm his way back into Todd's life - could next week's planned wedding still go ahead? In a brief Kabin segment, we take a look at who from Corrie has been nominated in this year's TRIC Awards and round things off with more of your listener feedback. Samantha Failsworth Character Profile

3/18/2026
Now here's a character who we never thought we'd hear mention of on Corrie again, but when Samantha Failsworth's name was dropped as an apparent attendee at Jim McDonald's funeral recently, we just had to take the opportunity to put together a character profile! First appearing on the Street in 1996, Samantha turned many a guy's head during her two-year tenure on the show. Beneath that confident exterior, though, were some secrets about her past just waiting to be uncovered - including the fact that she was on the run from a marriage that lasted only two days! In this episode of the podcast, we look back on her most memorable moments and share some fascinating trivia about her casting courtesy of some old issues of the official Corrie magazine.

Conversation Street Episode #723

3/14/2026
On this week's show, we talk about the episodes of Corrie shown between the 9th and the 13th March (Episodes #11,809 - 11,813) After weeks of speculation and theorising (and one heck of a lot of dramatic facial expressions from Maggie), the truth about Jim's secret affair - and, presumably, Ben's parentage - came to light this week. Although we're not so keen on yet another revision to a long-established character's back story, we can't deny loving the drama, and the interweaving of Ben's heart condition with Jim's own medical issues was cleverly done. Elsewhere on the street, Theo called time on his relationship with Todd - but do any of us really expect it to last? Also this week, tensions between Sam and Megan ramp up, Amy has a disastrous date with Ollie, and there's much ado about a doo-doo when Jodie engages in foul play with Adam. Up next on the podcast it's The Kabin, where we weigh in on recent rumours of pay cuts for cast members in the light of episode number reductions, and we round off the the show with more of your feedback. Corrie's Most Memorable Funerals

3/12/2026
In this week's bonus podcast, we chat about one of Corrie's most enduring traditions – the Weatherfield funeral. There've been far too many over the years for us to cover them all, so here we’re looking back at some of the most memorable, important and notorious send-offs that Coronation Street has ever given its residents. From the more solemn, atmospheric funerals of the show’s early days to the more dramatic services where secrets spill out and punches are thrown, we explore just how the cobbles have said goodbye to their own across the decades. And of course, because this is Corrie, there's also time to reminisce about some of the more awkward and unexpectedly funny funeral moments too!

Conversation Street Episode #722

3/7/2026
This podcast covers the episodes of Coronation Street shown between the 2nd and the 5th March (Episodes #11,806 - 11,809). We're feeling pretty smug this week as one of our predictions for 2026 has already come true: the arrival of Mandy's baby at the Connor-Swain residence! And colour us surprised: we actually really enjoyed the scenes too! Could Carla and Lisa actually be in for that rare thing in soaps - a bit of happiness? (Or at least before that dead body puts a dampener on their wedding day...) Bad news for fans of Jim McDonald, though, the big man himself has said cheerio now for the final time and gone to that big pub in the sky, so he has - and we seem tantalisingly close to discovering whether that theorised link between him and Maggie is true too... Also this week, baby Harper goes under the knife, Lou gets beaten up in prison and Todd struggles to buy Theo a birthday present. Another news-light week this week, so we skip over The Kabin segment and finish things off with more of your listener feedback. Street Talk - 00:13:15 Feedback - 02:22:31

Dee-Dee Bailey Character Profile

3/4/2026
This week’s bonus podcast is a character profile of Dee-Dee Bailey, the hotshot solicitor who burst onto the cobbles in 2022 after being teased for nearly three years! In our opinion, she was well worth the wait, and in this episode we take a look back at her time on the Street - from her biggest storylines to our favourite moments along the way. We also chat about how Dee-Dee helped breathe new life into the Bailey family and quickly established herself as one of Corrie’s most compelling new characters of the decade. From supporting Paul through his MND diagnosis to uncovering the dark secrets of her dodgy boyfriend Joel, Dee-Dee’s time in Weatherfield was never short on drama. Join us as we celebrate the organised chaos, big heart and sharp mind that made her such a memorable presence on the cobbles.

Conversation Street Episode 721

2/28/2026
On our latest podcast, we chat about the episodes of Coronation Street shown between the 23rd and the 27th February (Episodes #11,801 - 11,805). This week on the cobbles, the Mal storyline kicked up a gear as Bernie’s unwanted admirer crossed the line from irritating nuisance to full-on physcho stalker – only to end up in intensive care after a brutal attack by an unknown assailant. In true Weatherfield fashion, Bernie is wrongfully arrested, though it's soon revealed that that it was Kit who bonked him on the head. With a tenacious colleague sniffing around the case, could DC Green’s career now be hanging in the balance? Elsewhere on the street, a little more of Jodie's mysterious past comes to light when a young girl who she seemingly nannied for once show up to meet her - plus we see another item added to her secret box of trinkets... Meanwhile, Steve learns that his dad has been taken into hospital, George worries that a string of blunders at the undertaker’s could damage the business’s reputation, and the spark between Ollie and Lauren is swiftly extinguished following an intervention from Maggie. Up next on the podcast, it's The Kabin, and we weigh in on some candid comments from Maureen Lipman and Sally Ann Matthews about the state of the show at the moment, all of which is pretty timely in the wake of Iain MacLeod's interview last week! Court On Camera!

2/24/2026
We recently headed up north for another Corrie location hunt, ticking off several spots that were completely new to us. First up was The Saddleworth Hotel, seen earlier this year as the setting for Debbie’s ill-fated wedding, followed by a visit to Bolton’s Old Magistrates’ Court – a familiar backdrop for some of Coronation Street’s most explosive trials in recent years. While we were there, we also caught three former Coronation Street stars on stage at the Octagon Theatre, explored the latest additions to the MediaCity tour, and tracked down a couple of other locations that have popped up in smaller scenes over the years. It was a whirlwind trip full of cobbles-related goodness, and in this episode we share all the highlights - the sights, the surprises and, of course, plenty of Corrie chat along the way! Conversation Street Episode 720

2/21/2026
On our latest episode of the podcast, we chat about the goings on in Weatherfield between the 16th and the 20th February (Episodes #11,795 - 11,800). This week saw the much anticipated flash-forward episode of Corrie, which gave us a sneak peek into the future and Betsy's discovery of a dead body. Exactly who is the victim, though, and who could be responsible for causing their untimely demise? Also this week, Carl reveals to Ronnie the truth about his newly discovered relationship with Debbie, and we learn about his plans to burn down the hotel for the insurance money too - will Debbie realise what he’s really capable of before it’s too late? Elsewhere on the cobbles, Sam turns amateur detective in a bid to catch Megan and Will out, Lily starts her paper round at The Kabin, and Maggie grows uneasy over Ben’s budding friendship with Steve. Could we be about to learn exactly what she found in Ken’s cupboard? After Street Talk, we take quite a lengthy visit to The Kabin as we've got a fair bit to say about some recent news items. First, we react to the news that The British Soap Awards have once again been cancelled, and that's followed by our thoughts on Iain Macleod's recent appearance on the This Is Media City podcast, in which he previews some upcoming production changes to the show that it seems a lot of fans really aren't happy about... Conversation Street Episode 719

2/14/2026
On our latest podcast, we discuss the episodes of Coronation Street shown between the 9th and the 13th February (Episodes #11,790 - 11,794) This week, we meet Jodie and Shona's dad, Doug, though he's confined to his bed and certainly not in a good state of mind - though he's still lucid enough to know his youngest daughter's a wrong 'un. We're loving the mystery around this family, and Jodie's curious box of knickknacks has us wondering all sorts about what she's been up to! Also this week, Sam gets in touch with the Weatherfield drugs wizard when he hears that Ritalin can be used as a study aid - but is this a little too out of character for him? Also this week, Theo returns from his mum's, Mal proves himself to a a definite stalkery weirdo, and Debbie is assigned a prison buddy - and it's someone we were very happy to see again! As much as we wanted to carry on with the podcast after this and discuss the cancellation of the BSAs, unfortunately Michael wasn't feeling too well at all, so we called it a day after Street Talk - so you'll just have to wait a little longer to hear our thoughts on the British Soap Awards' cancellation!
